Panavia TORNADO F.Mk 3 ADV -British Air Force-
Tornado F. Mk three firing a missile medium-long-range AIM-120 AMRAAM.
Interceptor aircraft created by British Aerospace for the Royal Air Force (RAF). It is a twin-engine long-range, originally designed to intercept Soviet bombers against the risk of a possible attack from the east to the United Kingdom.
The nomination "ADV" means "Air Defense Variant", and was developed at the request of the RAF, to replace the recognized McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom II, and the Lightning F.6, flying for the first time a prototype of this in 1979.
The F.3 made its first flight in November 1985. version included RB.199 Mk.104 engine, which was optimized for use at high altitudes, with larger afterburning nozzles that provided a major push. Other improvements were F.2 on the ability to carry four Sidewinder missiles under the wings instead of two, and automatic rotation control wings.
UK exported only this plane to Italy and the Royal Saudi Air Force. It was withdrawn from service in the Royal Air Force in early 2011, completely replaced by the Eurofighter Typhoon. Currently still in service only in Saudi Arabia, but it is on track to be replaced by new and novel Typhoon.
A total of 205 units fabricate UK, including some prototypes.

Avión caza interceptor creado por la compañía British Aerospace para la Fuerza Aérea Real (RAF). Se trata de un bimotor de largo alcance, diseñado originalmente, para interceptar los bombarderos soviéticos ante el riesgo de un eventual ataque por el este a Reino Unido.
La nominación "ADV" significa "Variante de Defensa Aérea" ("Air Defense Variant" por su sigla en ingles), y fue desarrollada a pedido de la RAF, para reemplazar al reconocido McDonnel Douglas F-4 Phantom II, y al Lightning F.6, volando por primera vez un prototipo de este en 1979.
El F.3 realizó su primer vuelo en noviembre de 1985. Incluía la versión de motores RB.199 Mk.104, que estaba optimizada para uso a gran altitud, con toberas de postcombustión más grandes que proporcionaban un mayor empuje. Otras mejoras sobre el F.2 eran la capacidad para portar cuatro misiles Sidewinder bajo las alas en vez de dos, y un control de rotación de alas automático.
UK solo exportó este avión a Italia y a la Real Fuerza Aérea de Saudí. Fue retirado del servicio en la Real Fuerza Aérea a principios del 2011, reemplazado completamente por el Eurofighter Typhoon. Actualmente sigue en servicio únicamente en Arabia Saudí, pero ya esta en camino de ser reemplazado por el nuevo y novedoso Typhoon.
